Equipment to Support $334,500 • Mechatronic Graduates, Provide and/or upgrade sidewalks, signage, bathrooms, parking lots, elevators, and buildings to follow ADA regulations undergoing 3 phases. Funding request is to avoid incurring fees and/or penalties due to violations. Funds will be used to purchase equipment to improve the University's educational infrastructure in the aforementioned areas. Truth Hall Renovations $15,000,000 • • • . $40,000,000 PURPOSE Our #1 funding request- current structure is 67 years (1954) A modern student/learning center is critical to our recruitment, enrollment and retention strategies Will create a better on-campus experience for every student Promote outreach programs that will strengthen the University Planned offerings - Study rooms, lounges, dining facilities and vendors Renovating current Student Center again ($5M); will tie in to a new facility negating the need for a $40M - $50M new facility Our #1 Priority is grow overall enrollment by 1000 students; the lack of bedspace severely hampers that effort Truth Hall has 384 beds but due to life/safety issues, we are limited to utilizing only 128 beds . With a full renovation, we would gain 256 beds . Funds will be used to improve storm water drainage across the campus; wider diameter piping. Civil upgrades and storm water piping installation Current track surface is in such disrepair that it is a serious safety hazard for students; therefore we do not use for any meets Resurface and upgrade track and field areas. Students awarded an abatement must have at minimum a qualifying $500 institutional scholarship. Scholarship managers do reserve the right to determine the amount of the abatement and determine if an abatement is to be awarded. FY20-21, there were 142 students that received an education fee waiver pursuant to SC Code of Laws 59-101-620, which applies to Undergraduate Students. 33#34SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY Maintenance • SC State University has a maintenance plan which includes a review of the facilities portfolio identifying all facility related renewal needs (deferred, capital renewal and capital improvements) • Over a pre-defined period of time ⚫ Based on State required State Building Condition Survey The cost to get all facilities to an 80% condition is $79,932,983. • C&W Services completed the facilities assessment.
