Even after Approval, delay in release of State share of fund to AIC. Currently AIC insists that all applications should include Sketch map of the plot with locations of the palms marked on it, which is not at all a farmer friendly and should be avoided. Lack of awareness among farmers. Apathy in implementation, among State Govt. officials. Coconut for Family Nutrition, Health & Wellness 3535#36Bogs Com Concerns - Phailin cyclone in Andhra Phailin cyclone hit Andhra coast on 12/10/2013. AD, Horticulture, Govt. of AP submitted the details of list of beneficiaries covered under the scheme and the damage assessment report with palms insured and number of palms lost. 224 no. of farmers, who insured their coconut gardens, lost 5725 of their palms and they are eligible for sum assured of Rs.65,83,750/-. AIC declined the claim stating that the farmer's palms were not covered under insurance when cyclone happened. AIC progress report for 2011-12 is nil. AICs claim is that even though the state share of premium was received in Nov 2012, since Board's share and Farmers share of premium was received in full in March 2012, they were insured from March, 2012 for one year upto March 2013.
