Mission Facilitate social, political and cultural rapprochement between Brazil and the African continent, focusing its actions to promote economic and social development, combating poverty, enhancement of ethics, peace, citizenship, respect for human rights, democracy and other universal values. - Objectives Facilitate an open discussion between government representatives, academics and entrepreneurs on issues of interest to Brazil and Africa. Present proposals for the development of policies of cooperation between Brazil and Africa. Chart a strategic plan for harnessing the potential of mutual opportunities for Brazilian and African companies with the African continent. Vision of To be identified as an institution of materialization opportunities involving the private sector and governments in order to contribute to building an agenda that seeks to transform ideas into action in Brazil's relations with Africa.#4BRAZIL AFRICA FORUM Representatives from Brazil and 30 African countries met for two days at the 3rd Forum Brazil Africa: Challenges and Opportunities for Energy Supply in Brazil and Africa, which took place on 19 and 20 November 2015 in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, metropolitan area of Recife, Pernambuco. A highlight of the event was the debate on Brazilian experiences that can inspire entrepreneurs and policy makers from Africa. The regulation and organization of energy production and distribution systems was also highlighted at the event and drew the attention of African managers. Among the highlights of the event are the signing of a technical cooperation agreement between Instituto Brasil Africa and CIBiogás and the beginning of Mr. Ibraimo Ibraimo's term of office as a member of the advisory board of the Institute. The forum also allowed the participation of students from different nationalities through a volunteer program that included a public selection process. !!!!!! Focusing on Agriculture Brasil Africa The 4th Forum Brasil Africa will take place on the 3rd and 4th November 2016 at the premises of the Itaipu Technological Park, in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. This edition will discuss strategies for the development of agriculture in Brazil and Africa.#5COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH CIBIOGÁS The International Centre for Renewable Energy (CIBiogás) and Instituto Brazil Africa have formalized a technical cooperation agreement. The signing of the document took place during the course of the 3rd Forum Brasil Africa. The partnership aims to provide training in biogas energy and supporting sustainable development projects of energy sources. An outcome from the union of 16 institutions that develop or support projects related to renewable energy, CIBiogás-ER's mission is to promote the use of renewable energy, with emphasis on biogas products, promotion and development of initiatives, entrepreneurship and encouragement of public policies that can establish local and regional supply chains with positive social, economic and environmental impact. The CIBiogás-ER participates in the Federal Program for South-South Cooperation, with development projects of the production and use of biogas in Brazil, Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa. A#6ATLANTICO Created in November 2014, ATLANTICO translates the philosophy of Instituto Brasil Africa: to approximate Brazil Atlantico Atlantico and Africa. Bilingual (English / Portuguese), quarterly, and with an average circulation of 5,000 copies, the magazine's texts and images are carefully designed to inspire people who, on a daily basis, think about and strengthen the relations between Brazil and African countries. ATLANTICO magazine, we see Brazil as the ideal strategic partner for the development of the African continent. At In 2015, the publication's first year, we issued four editions: January, April, July and October. The results were positive. We were honored to hear the Nobel Peace Prize winner Jose Ramos-Horta, former president of East Timor and key figure for the pacification of Guinea-Bissau. We also got hand in hand with the Brazilian Ambassador Celso Amorim, a major contributor to the strengthening of Brazil Africa relations. Women gained prominence on the following covers. The current head of the Ministry of Women, Racial Equality and Human Rights, Nilma Lino Gomes, spoke to us about the fight against racism and social inequality in Brazil. In the fourth edition, the dialogue was with Clarice Dlamini- Zuma. The anti-apartheid activist is president of the African Union Commission and one of the main political leaders of the African continent. Representatives from five North African countries made their presentations on the opportunities that open in their countries at this time of growth in Africa and made it clear that everyone wants more partnerships with Brazil. Also participated at the session, three business executives with interests in Africa: Local Productive Arrangement of Alcohol, Agricola Formosa and Atlas Olive Oils SARL, from Morocco. The seminar also included contributions from representatives of Embrapa, the Centre of Excellence against Hunger, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and BNDES' office in Africa. With the agreement, the presence of the entity in the African continent should be strengthened by the work that the Center of Excellence Against Hunger has made in recent years with more than 30 countries worldwide. This non-profit organization works to guide countries that face problems with hunger in developing national projects to solve the problem.#9AGREEMENT WITH UNILAB The Instituto Brasil Africa signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the University for International Integration of the Afro-Brazilian Lusophony - Unilab. Under this agreement, we were able to establish a partnership that made possible the official representation of the Pro-Dean of Institutional Relations from Unilab during the 3rd Forum Brazil Africa and the participation of their students during the event, through the public notice of the Institute's volunteer program.#10CONVERSATIONS ON AFRICA TEMALHO OON CATORA DE NABACO FRON CARTEIRA INN TRA S CARTRADE TEAMALENO PEVIDENCIA SOCIAL CARTEIRA DE TRABA PREVIDNON SOCIAL Held on August 26th, by Instituto Lula, in partnership with the São Paulo Bank Union and Instituto Brasil Africa, the seminar CONVERSATIONS ON AFRICA: Brazil facing the challenges of a new migration cycle brought Juana Kweitel, Programme Director at Conectas, Andres Ramirez, representative of the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) in Brazil, Beto Vasconcelos, national Secretary of Justice and President of the National Council for Refugees (Conare) and Paulo Illes, Policy Coordinator for the Secretariat of Migrants Human Rights and Citizenship from City of São Paulo. The discussion was chaired by Instituto Lula's director for Africa, Mr. Celso Marcondes.#11CELSO AMORIM'S BOOK RELEASE AND LECTURE AT CEARÁ PEDAVE FEDERAL DE CEARA On the night of May 28th, with a sold out venue, the people of Fortaleza attended the auditorium of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) for the lecture and the book release of Instituto Brasil Africa's advisor, Mr. Celso Amorim. The event was held in partnership with the Institute of Culture and Art (ICA). With a lecture entitled "Tehran, Ramallah and Doha: Haughty and Active Foreign Policy Memories," the former minister discussed his experiences as Ambassador and Minister in Itamar Franco and Lula's government. In the second phase of the event, Amorim autographed copies of the book, which has the same title of the lecture. Celso Amorim is a member of Instituto Brasil Africa's Advisory Board.#12TANZANIAN BUSINESS DELEGATION IN BRAZIL Between the 14th and 23rd August, representatives of the DCB Commercial Bank Plc, Tanzania, were in the cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza to understand the national experience in correspondent bank and the model of banking without branches (branchless) of Brazil, as well as the success factors and challenges of its implementation. The activity, organized by Instituto Brazil Africa, included technical tours at the following institutions: National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), Community Bank from the "Preventório de Niteroi", Brazil's Banco do Nordeste (BNB), Banco do Brasill, Banco Palmas, Postal Bank and Caixa Economica Federal. iversidade porava.
