81% of the indicators used in 2019-20 have been retained in 2020-21
Out of the 100 indicators used in 2019-20, 81 have been used in 2020-21. Some indicators have been added,
based on new data availability at State level, for more comprehensive coverage. As a result, the number of
global targets covered has increased from 54 to 70.

Data for 80% of the indicators are sourced from last three years (since 2018-19)
Some latest national-level survey reports could not be used as they cover only a limited number of States.

SDG India Index is not a State Government scorecard but emphasizes on a
whole-of society-approach of government, civil society, private sector and
citizens
The Index is not a reflection of a State Government's performance or performance of any one department.
It underscores how achieving the Global Goals requires a multisectoral approach which is not only whole-
