significantly in recent years
Almost half of all respondents say that
inequality has increased in the last five
years

Only 15 percent say that it has fallen
On average, people believe that the
incomes for the richest 20 percent
have grown rapidly

They believe that incomes for the next
20 percent have grown moderately
They believe that incomes for the
bottom 60 percent have stayed about
the same
