COSTS OF PROPOSITION 65 LAWSUITS TO INDUSTRY:
• Between 2000 and 2010, more than $142 million paid in settlements
• Does not include legal costs imposed on business
• Does not include opportunity costs
• Does not include costs of cases that actually went to trial
• The California Attorney General has collected just 15 %* of the total
settlement money, on average
• About 85 % goes to the bounty hunter groups and their attorneys
