G&W is committed to preventing collisions, injuries, and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and crossings. We support a national education and
awareness program, led by the non-profit, Operation Lifesaver, that is dedicated to ending tragic collisions, fatalities, and injuries at highway-rail grade
crossings and on railroad rights of way. During the last 5 years, our employees provided more than 2,400 Operation Lifesaver presentations to over
330,000 schoolchildren, school bus and truck drivers, law enforcement personnel, first responders, and other individuals to discuss the importance of
rail-crossing safety.
In 2020 alone, despite pandemic restrictions, we were able to educate 1,648 individuals and deliver 48 presentations. Through our work with
Operation Lifesaver, we continue to create stronger and safer communities, and further develop relationships with our valued first responders.
