➤ A record-high 31.88 million non-Japanese passengers visited Japan in CY2019. Japanese passengers
departing from Japan also increased
➤ Passengers to Japan decreased and the economy deteriorated sharply after February due to the impact
of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19)
➤ In the exchange rate market, a strong yen and weak dollar and yuan continues
> Haneda domestic flights increased in the first half of the year but weakened in the second half due partly
to the impact of natural disasters with a greater reduction in February and March due to the impact of
COVID-19
➤ Haneda international flights increased compared with the previous year up to January despite a decline in
flight passenger volume from Korea after August, with a greater reduction in February and March due to
the impact of COVID-19
➤ The international passenger figure at Narita and other airports decreased significantly in the second half of
the year due to a great fall in February and March
