Monument to Empress Catherine II
There's the form of Catherine the Great standing
in the centre of the pedestal. The Empress is ac-
companied by Prince Potemkin and three Cossacks.
The sculptural monument is a perfect copy of the
monument by Mikhail Mikeshin that was destroyed
in 1920s. The plot is based on the historical meet-
ing of the Cossacks with Catherine II that resulted
into granting of Kuban lands to the Cossack Army
to use in perpetuity.
Krasnodar Football Club Stadium
The Stadium was opened in 2016. The capacity
of the ultramodern football arena is 35,179 seats;
3,273 of them are VIP seats and boxes. Technical
frills, such as a roof of a special cable construc-
tion that covers all the spectator seats, an infra-
red system for grandstands, a huge media screen
of 4,700 sq. m, allow holding tournaments of any
scale, including those under the aegis of UEFA and
FIFA, and attract a lot of fans to the Kuban capital.
The Bridge of Kisses
The Bridge of Kisses is a delicate bridge across
the backwater to connect the embankment of the
Kuban River with the 30 Anniversary of the Victory
Park. The pedestrian bridge has been built in a new
millenium already to become a favourite place for
walks of newlyweds. Couples in love hang barn
locks with their names written on them on bridge
railings. Keys are thrown to the river to symbolize
strong relationships as per tradition.
Alexander's Triumphal Arch
(Tsar's Gates)
The Alexander's Triumphal Arch also known as the
Tsar's Gates was erected in 1888 to commemorate
the visit of Alexander III and his family to the
city. Construction was funded by the merchant
community of Yekaterinodar. An elegant arch was
constructed in the Russian National Style. Initially,
it was placed at the junction of Mira Street and
Sedina Street. Since 1900 a tramline has been
running under the arch. The Tsar's Gates had been
a landmark of Yekaterinodar for thirty years until
the arch was destroyed in 1928. In 2008 the Tsar's
Gates restored by photos and drafts changed their
historical place for the junction of Krasnaya Street
and Babushkina Street.
Dog Capital Sculpture
In his sculpture, Valery Pchelin
captured two dogs who met
for their first date at the
building with clocks, at the
junction of Mira Street and
Krasnaya Street.
Saint George Cathedral
On June 18, 1895, the Saint George Cathedral named
after Great Martyr St. George the Victorious was
erected in Yekaterinodar, on the place of the former
metochion of the Balaclava St. George's Monastery
of the Taurian Diocese. One of the conditions of its
construction was to build a school. History has not
preserved the name of the architect or the name of
the project it's only known that works were con-
ducted with participation of Malgerb, a famous cre-
ator of the Saint Catherine's Cathedral named after
the Great Martyress in the centre of Yekaterinodar.
Musical Fountain on the Teatralnaya Square
Construction of the fountain started in May 2010. It
took 20,000 sq. m of tiles to improve the territory.
The foundation where water sprays play is paved
with dark granite that was delivered from Italy. The
fountain was launched for the first time during
celebrations of the Krasnodar City Day in 2011.

Sculptural Composition "Reply
of Zaporozhian Cossacks to Sultan
Mehmed IV of the Ottoman Empire"
In the framework of celebrations dedicated to the
215th anniversary of the Kuban capital a monument
based on I. Repin's painting "Reply of Zaporozhian
Cossacks to Sultan Mehmed IV of the Ottoman Em-
pire" was opened. In 1888, Ilya Repin came to Yekat-
erinodar to make a few sketches of Kuban Cossacks
for the painting he had in mind. He visited the Pash-
kovskaya stanitsa and made more than several doz-
ens of drafts there.
water sprays breaking free of the underground to
reach the height of 25 meters. Bright underwater
spotlights illuminate them in tune with music
creating more than 400 colour effects. 377 sprays
are involved in this composition of water, light and
music which is controlled by complicated cutting-
edge equipment.
