☐ The negative trade balance is anticipated to exceed (-) USD 30.0 billion in FY22 driven by
rising imports and relatively lower rise in exports.
□ In the backdrop of the negative growth of remittances, the negative current account balance
rose sharply in the FY 2021-22 (July-April): rising from (-) USD 1.6 billion to (-) USD 15.3.
billion, unprecedented in recent history.
☐ The increase of (+) USD 2.5 billion in the Financial Account could not dent on the overall
balance position which went from the positive (+) USD 7.49 billion to the negative terrain of
(-) USD 3.7 billion.
