21 Pegmatites are potential sources of rare earths and uranium • Pegmatites are coarse crystalline granitic rocks that are rich in critical metals. Pegmatites are competent rocks which are easily quarried from surface deposits at low cost. At Kulyk Lake, a swarm of pegmatites are interleaved and comingled with the basement rocks extracting uranium and rare earths from those rocks forming hybrid pegmatite deposits. At Kulyk Lake, Searchlight has discovered pegmatites containing rare earths and uranium of potentially significant size. SEARCHLIGHT RESOURCES
