There was decline in the percentage of Tibetans living in the TAR, dropping three percentage
points from 93% in 2000 to 90% in 2010 (fig. 3). This represents a continuous decline since 1965,
when the concentration of Tibetans inside the TAR was at 96%.
In Qinghai, Sichuan, and Gansu, the 2010 percentage of Tibetans remained approximately the
same or slightly higher than 2000. A notable exception is in the Gannan TAP of Gansu, where
the percentage of Tibetans increased from 51% to 55%.View entire presentation
