Only 33% of mothers in the TAR received systematic health care during pregnancy and giving
birth. This is far below the national average of 80% and the results of other inland provinces.
The numbers for the TAR are slightly better if individual hospital visits are counted, with 66% of
TAR mothers having at least one hospital visit before giving birth, and 55% having at least one
