In 2021, the Araras WTP work was underway, which will add 9.5 million liters/day to the system, 89% completed by the end of the year. The new WTP consolidates the concept of sustainable sanitation: equipped with the most advanced technology and fully automated processes, operationalized, and controlled by a state-of-the- art Operational Control Center (OCC), it will be possible to reuse the processed water and resulting waste in all respects. The social and environmental project Revivendo Águas Claras, of reforestation of the riparian forest for the recovery of the spring, was the winner of the Firjan Environmental Award in the category "GHG (Greenhouse Gases) and Energy Efficiency." As part of the project, students from three municipalities planted native vegetation seedlings on the shores of the Juturnaíba Lagoon.
