EIA AND DECISION MAKING IN ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT One of the significant benefits of assessing the likely impacts of a project on the environment is that the process is a decision making tool. Effective EIA could alter the nature of the decisions or actions to be implemented to reduce negative environmental impacts and makes the project more sustainable.
