Regulation of certain
foreign investments
In accordance with Czech legislation on the screening of
foreign investments, which is based on the regulations of
the European Union, the Czech authorities should carry out
monitoring of potentially risky investments to the Czech
Republic and eventually impose restriction on them. This
legislation applies to investors from non-EU countries
and also investments made by EU entities controlled by a
third-country investor. Foreign investments to specified
sectors such as businesses involved with military material
and critical infrastructure require prior approval from the
authorities. Other investments potentially able to endanger
the security or internal order could be checked ex post by the
authorities if the investment was not consulted with them.
