In the overall Global Competitiveness Report 2015-20162, the Czech Republic ranks 31st in the competition of
144 countries in the world. It has made remarkable progress from 37th to 31st place since 2014-2015.
1 Central and Eastern European new member states of the EU; this group consists of 10 post-socialist countries which entered the EU in 2004 and 2007:
Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
2 The Global Competitiveness Report 2015-2016 assesses the competitiveness landscape of 144 economies, providing insight into the drivers of their
productivity and prosperity. The Report series remains the most comprehensive assessment of national competitiveness worldwide.
