11.10 RUSSIA AND THE ISLAMIC WORLD: A CULTURAL BRIDGE
Organizers: Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, FSFEI HE Kazan State Institute of Culture.
One of the main goals of the event is to strengthen social and cultural ties between the regions of the Russian
Federation and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, for the solution of which certain tasks
are planned, including the development of recommendations in defining strategic prospects of development
of international social and cultural relations between the forum participants; attraction of the world leading
experts to the joint discussion of the current issues of the cultural sphere; organization of exchange of
experience in successful practices of digital technologies implementation.
One cannot ignore the fact that income from creative industries in a number of countries accounts for a
significant share of GDP (up to 5.7%) and Russia has a potential in this regard. Special attention should be paid
to the support of the creative economy and its separate segments. A separate special section will be an
important tool for solving some of these problems. It will be devoted to the discussion of urgent questions in the
sphere of creative industries, culture, and art in the Forum's participating countries.
The session will bring together rectors of higher educational institutions of culture, directors of museums, libraries,
theatrical and entertainment establishments, film studios, concert and circus companies, and other
organizations, connected to the creative industries in Russia and the participating countries. Mentality,
geography, and political peculiarities contribute their own unique color and cultural peculiarities - this will also
be one of the topics of discussion.
