Independent Review of RBD Bangladesh's Development Requirements of the poor □ In recognition of the increase in the national poverty rate and the large number of people who became poor during the pandemic, the government, on several instances, mentioned that direct cash transfers of BDT 2,500 would be provided per family for selected poor families nationwide. ■ In general, our findings indicate that the BDT 2,500 is insufficient to sustain one household for even one month, even when considering only the cost of food.
