Quality Assurance Initiatives for a Student-Centered University:
New Initiatives:
Starting Fall 2021, QEC at UCP has started documenting Corrective Action Plans against
all Assessment Evaluation Reports. After each survey and SAR report, an action plan is
prepared based on the findings and periodically assessed and monitored for implementation.
Semester wise Deans' Classroom Audit Report: each semester the Deans physically attend
classes and fill the assessment rubric thereafter. This report is used as evidence to triangulate
the feedback received by Course & Teacher Evaluation every semester.
For the newly inducted Faculty members for Fall 2021 Semester, QEC gave a thorough brief
about UCP Vision, Mission Values and Classroom Contract in order to benchmark the Teaching
Excellence Program taught by CPE for a mid-semester Course & Teacher Evaluation. The
rationale behind this initiative was for the Deans and HODs to assess new faculty's engagement
in classroom and guide them accordingly whilst ensuring the students' learning in not effected.
The QEC team has also contextualized all Survey tools for Fall 2021 onwards so as to assess
the Program and Course Learning Objectives in light of the faculty's respective Strategic Plans,
Faculty Vision & Missions aligning it with University Wide Vision and Mission.
Classroom Contract 'Teacher as a Role Model'
QEC incorporated the classroom contact as an integral part of the Course & Teacher evaluation
to fully embrace the student-centered approach of UCP - where teachers are role models for the
students and fully exhibit UCP Values and Classroom Contract in order to achieve the UCP vision
