With the release of the 2010 census and other state-led statistical studies, it is now
possible to see China's official numbers on educational attainment, illiteracy, average
years of schooling, and the growth of educational facilities and resources across
different regions. As the charts below will show, there are undeniable inequalities in
China's lauded education system, especially when it comes to the TAR. On all major
indicators of education, the TAR scores among the lowest in the PRC and often the
