CYBER CRIME Penalty for libel: A person who is convicted of intentional libel is liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for 5 years. Penalty for Malicious Communication: A person who commits such an offence is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or both and in the case of a subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding twenty thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or both. 60
