• • • 4 SPINNING | INTRODUCTION & PROCESS . Spinning is the process of twisting together of drawn out strands of fibers to form yarn. Process: • Blow Room: To form a uniform lap from the cotton bale. Carding: Cleaning and intermixing of fibers to produce a continuous web. Combing: Separating long staple fibers from short staple fibers. Drawing: Strengthening fibers by passing them through rollers. Roving: Fibers are converted into low twist lea called roving. Ring Frame: Spinning and winding the fibers around a rotating spindle.
