What are the major concerns: Use in policymaking Use in policymaking: The present state of availability (and accessibility) of fiscal data do not adequately meet the demand for policymaking and ensuring transparency and accountability ➤ Constituency-wise data is not available ➤ Impact analyses (both ex-ante and ex-post) of fiscal measures are mostly missing ➤ Decisions are often taken (in an ad-hoc basis) without stakeholder consultation ■ For instance: SROs, new ADP projects, supplementary budget All of the aforementioned issues impedes effective policymaking in a transparent and accountable manner These also limit the capacity for better use of public money Bhattacharya et al.
