Opportunities to Foreign Investment in Kosovo
2.2 Foreign investments in the Balkans region
Improving the climate for investment is a strategic economic priority for South East
Europe. The global economic crisis has highlighted the importance to the region's long-
term prosperity of generating higher levels of direct investment. Many of the policy
reforms needed to strengthen the investment climate are also necessary for membership
of the European Union, to which countries in the region generally aspire.
