Electricity sector reform and structural change Selling generation sites חברת החשמל Israel Electric ■ Eshkol site A sale agreement was signed on December 11, 2023, with the winner in the competitive process "Eshkol Power Energies Ltd" at a cost of appx. NIS 9 billion. Completion of the sale of Eshkol site is subject to the fulfillment of several suspending conditions, including obtainment of some regulatory approvals, as stipulated in the agreement. ■ Reading site On January 30, 2024, the minister of Energy and Infrastructure decided on the cessation of electricity generation at Reading Power Plant in Tel-Aviv. In addition, part of the station area will be cleared and used for civilian purposes and for the expansion of the beach area. The remaining part will be used by the electricity sector for green, clean and innovative needs (electricity storage and underwater electricity transmission cable). The Company intends to negotiate with the state authorities in order to ensure reimbursement of the costs of preparing the site for sale and scrapping the units, as well as fair payment for the land value in accordance with future land designations.
