TNO innovation for life CONCLUSIONS • • • Adding 43 low-cost airboxes to the existing national monitoring network (2 high-end stations) improves the documentation of air quality in the 1,500 km² study area. Using a refined emission source map plus Gaussian plume modeling is able to keep track of emissions at 10-min intervals. Ranking of modeled emission results for 21 major sources is similar to survey-based result. • A combined airbox monitoring network with emission modelling can help policy-makers to decide where and how to reduce local air pollution.
