The faculty of computation mathematics and cybernetics was
created in Nizhny Novgorod in 1963, making it the first in the country.
Today, an important area of activity of the CMC faculty is
cooperation with leading IT companies (Intel, Microsoft, IBM, Telma,
etc.).
The region has over 300 IT companies, employing 24 000 IT
specialists. TOP-10 companies employ approximately 20% of
personnel (4 540 specialists). 7 leading institutions prepare the IT
personnel, graduating over 1600 IT specialists per year. At the same
time, to maintain the growth of the market, at least 3000 graduates
per year is required, according to the experts.

2 Intel offices are located in Nizhny Novgorod. Intel R&D-center in
Nizhny Novgorod is one of the largest research and development
Intel centers in the world. Russian division of Intel companies is the
largest PO development center out of the USA. The main focus of the
center is the development of global Intel projects in the field of
software, artificial intelligence, machine vision, 5G and the Internet of
things.
