The average temperature on the flat land in January is minus 3-5 degrees, in July-plus 22-24 degrees. The coast of the Black Sea can be divided into two climate zones. From Anapa to Tuapse is an area of a moderately continental climate. From Tuapse to So- chi is an area of humid subtropical climate. The duration of the warm period (the period with the atmospheric temperature above 0 °C) on the most part of the territory is 9-10 months, while on the coast of the Black Sea the temperature actually nev- er drops below zero degrees, i.e. there are only a few days of the cold period when subzero figures can be observed. In total, there are 140-153 summer days. Summer is mostly moderately hot, the hottest months fall on July-August. The maximum temperature exceeds 35-39 °C, the number of days with the maximum temperature above 30 °C in summer is about 30-65 days. The frostless season in most of the regions lasts for 180-200 days, on the coast of the Black Sea - 220-260 days. Every popular urban resort of the Krasnodar Region has its individual climate patterns. Anapa is famous for the greatest solar activity (2,450 solar hours per year). Novorossiysk is notable for a rare atmospheric phenomenon - bora, the gusting wind with a speed of up to 40 m/s. Gelendzhik is a record-breaker when it comes to the amount of precipitation – in the av- erage, 800 mm of precipitation occurs in 365 days here. Still, the climate in the territory is one of the most favourable for living and working in Russia.
