Financial Results 11 In 2018, the company has applied IFRS 15 "Revenue from Contracts with Customers "and IFRS 9 "Financial Instruments" which are effective from 1st January 2018 and opted for full retrospective approach for the 2017 numbers. VIVA's revenue decreased by 14.1% during the three months ended 31 March 2019 to reach KD 66.6 million as compared to KD 77.6 million recorded during the three months ended 31 March 2018. VIVA's EBITDA increased by 4.2% to reach KD 18.7 million during the three months ended 31 March 2019 with an EBITDA Margin of 28% as compared to KD 18 million and margin of 23% during the same period last year. The net profit reached KD 9.6 million (earning per share 19 fils) during Q1-2019 as compared to KD 11.6 million (earning per share 23 fils) recorded during Q1-2018. Shareholders' equity base increased to KD 181.6 million at the end of March 2019 with a growth rate of 18% compared to KD 153.4 million at the end of March 2018. VIVA'S customers' reached 2.04 million by end of March 2019.
