NATIONAL GOALS & TARGETS GOALS: 1. International commitments, obligations & collaborations are enhanced and complemented e.g. UN Conventions, Multi/Bi-lateral Agreements, and the Millennium Development Goals 2. Marine systems & Resources are protected, sustainable managed and maintained>> Resilience against natural & manmade threats is increased. 2. Strong legislative & policy frameworks are in place 3. Adaptation Framework is in place 4. Management Plans for threatened species are developed and implemented 5. Strengthened capacity (national government, provincial & local)> manpower, skills & knowledge, etc.
