Enrollment growth at ACC targeted universities has remained steady throughout the economic cycle. - Declining national enrollment statistics over the last decade have been driven by non-traditional students leaving private for-profit universities and community colleges to return to the workforce as the economy has recovered. Public 4-year universities have averaged 1.6% annual enrollment growth since 1970 and have continued at these levels since the Great Recession.
