Investor's Guide To Eswatini
6 EDUCATION AND HUMAN RESOURCE
E
ducation is considered the foundation for the country's economic and social development and this is enshrined
in the Constitution. The levels of education are primary, secondary, high school and tertiary. The latter embraces
university, technical and vocational education. Thousands of graduates are produced annually by local tertiary
institutions in various disciplines including technology and multimedia, commercial, vocational, health sciences, creative
arts, social sciences, education, and agriculture amongst others. The government also, in addition to foreign aid, supports
international undergraduate and postgraduate studies for Eswatini students in advanced fields that are not available in
the country, including engineering, chemistry, and medical amongst others through scholarship funding in international
academic institutions across the world. In terms of employment, the Employment Act of 1980 governs employers and
employees while the Industrial Relations Act of 2000 provides for the collective negotiation of terms and conditions of
employment, for the provision of dispute resolution mechanisms and for matters incidental to employer-employee relations.
