Key risks identified in 2019/2020
As a result of the review, 31 macro-risks were
identified, which can be broken down into 107 risks,
of which the most important are:
Macroeconomic/political changes: market
changes such as the oil price, US dollar, VHP
sugar price etc., which have a direct or indirect
impact on the sales and revenue planning
curve for Atvos. Current policy is also taken into
account, such as tax barriers to the import of
ethanol from corn.
Climate risk: impact of drought and frost on
leased areas or the properties of sugarcane
suppliers, and consequently on the crop result.
Diseases and pests in the fields: new diseases
and pests that can attack our own or third-
party plantations, affecting yields.
For the 2020/2021 crop, as well as executing
action plans and the maturity of the integrated
risk management, we shall have a specific plan
to comply with the General Data Protection Act,
which we have been planning throughout the
2019/2020 year.
In addition to risks, our plan involves
mapping opportunities for our business.
Here we identified as a strategic
opportunity during the year the
certification of all our units by RenovaBio.
The process ranged from preparation for
audits to designing internal procedures
for issuing Decarbonization Credits
(CBIO). More details of our strategy in
Vision of the future.
