Student Success Stories Kevin Earl West Our Talent Based Scholar, Kevin Earl West from the Faculty of Media & Communication Studies (FMCS) is an instrumentalist and leads a band named “Qaid”. His song has recently been nominated for DMA (Dallas Music Awards), organized by Djooky. He has also played in collaboration with Rafi Peer in the Pak-Hind (Dosti Program) back in 2018. He has already released a song “Aks” and is planning to launch another song named “Safar”. Alongside his passion for music, he keeps his academic performance at par as well and has secured a CGPA of 3.32. Bassam Monib from Faculty of Information & Technology (FOIT) was awarded 1st position out of 1,000 participants in the competition of "Seeds for the Future 2021" organized by Huawei in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC). Ibrar Abu Al Hassan Our Talent Based Scholar, Ibrar Abu Al Hassan from Faculty of Media & Communication Studies (FMCS) was awarded 1st Position out of 83 participants in the Punjab Talent Hunt held at District Public School (DPS), Kasur. Fahad Manzoor Fahad is the current President of UCP's MUN platform, International Crisis Chambers and has represented his country and UCP at various national and international conferences. This year, he has had the honor of serving as a Committee Director for the Youth International Conclave Model United Nations, NY, USA, United Association of Professional Colleges and Universities Model United Nations, Philippines, United Nations Peace Keeping Forces Council Model United Nations, Thailand and Global Diplomats' Model African Union, Morocco. Rameen Mehmood Rameen Mehmood from Faculty of Media and Communications Studies (FMCS) was selected for the UK DICE program funded by the British Council in which she represented Pakistani culture with other communities. Her proposal for a web series was also accepted regarding the issues of Children and Youth of Pakistan. Awais Sikandar Our Talent-Based Scholar, Awais Sikandar from Faculty of Media & Communications Studies (FMCS) is associated with journalism and writing columns in renowned newspapers of Pakistan from the last six years. Also, he is President of World Columnists Club of Sahiwal District and General Secretary of Electronic Media of Kassowal Press Club. His collection of columns (Zouq e Tamasha) has been published in 2020 and recently poetry collection book (Sham Na Honay Dena) has also published. Bassam Monib Usama Tanveer Bassam Monib from Faculty of Information & Technology (FOIT) was awarded 1st position out of 1,000 participants in the competition of “Seeds for the Future 2021" organized by Huawei in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC). The program requires a minimum learning of 18 hours, covering exclusive courses to learn about the latest technologies (5G, AI and Cloud) and learn from the best experts in the industry. Usama Tanveer from the Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) & Head of Media Marketing, Society of Life Sciences was selected as one of the qualified Directors, Asia's Nominees of the Hult Prize Globally. More than 3,000 universities from 121 plus countries participated and in Pakistan, 120+ universities participated and only one Pakistani was nominated for Hult Prize Globally among the Top 20 Campus Directors. 57 Annual Report 2021 58 Annual Report 2021
