CI SOUTH DAKOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH Challenges • • There is not a state mandate for infant/child death review. It has become more and more difficult to collect data for the review process due to concerns related to confidentiality, HIPAA and Marsy's Law. Inconsistency in how the teams conduct their reviews. Sustainability of the review teams (since all members are volunteers) and membership is not consistent. Funding not available for review teams to implement prevention recommendations. 11
