Sochi
Humid subtropics are represented
with pebble beaches in Sochi. The
mountain-forest landscape with
perceptible elevation changes,
the abundance of subtropical flo-
ra, large forestlands in mountains
made holding the Winter Olympics
in such warm latitudes possible.
Gelendzhik
Gelendzhik features sub-humid
and dry subtropical climate of
the Mediterranean type. Moun-
tain slopes come close to the
sea. Hotels and sanatoria locat-
ed along the central embank-
ment are practically at sea level,
and the coast largely features
various elevation changes. The
city graced with a smile of the
sun features nice beaches with
small pebbles and a sand bottom,
though there are also pebble or
shingle beaches.
Anapa
Anapa attracts vacationers with
its dry moderately continental
steppe climate that evolves into
the Mediterranean climate. Estuar-
ies, treed foothills with valleys and
relict plants make a picturesque
combination with a wide stripe of
beach (20-500 m) of 40 km pow-
dery beaches with slightly sloping
solid bottom and 20 km pebble
beaches (the area of the High
Coast Beach, Sukko, Utrish).
Yeysk
Healing ionized sea air of Yeysk is
filled with aromas of the steppe.
Mild climate with elements of
marine climate, sea estuaries and
bays provide an opportunity for
swimming at sand beaches with
plain and slightly sloping entrance
to the sea despite the wind direc-
tion.
Temryuk
Temryuk is one of the sunni-
est districts of the territory with
235 days of good and easily
warmed water. Adjacent beaches
are spread out for 220 km along
the coast. Beaches of the Sea of
Azov are covered with a mixture of
small shells and quartz sand. Black
Sea beaches of the Taman Pen-
insula are sand ones. The climate
here is sub-humid, with distinctive
elements of marine and less dis-
tinctive elements of continental
one.
