a) Includes medical equipment purchased as part of the COVID-19 Response, to be distributed to statutory authorities within the WA health system when required.
At the reporting date, write-downs totalling $5.3 million have been made comprising:
drug supplies which were adjusted to reflect expired stock of $4.6 million
medical equipment which was adjusted to the lower of cost and net realisable value and resulted in a write-down of $0.7 million ($0.4 million in 2021-22)
Please refer to note 3.5 'Other expenses'.
Inventories are measured at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Costs are assigned by the method most appropriate for each class of inventory, with the majority
being measured on a first in first out basis.
