EMISSIONS AND COMMITMENTS
Carbon footprint of the Dominican Republic
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are relatively modest.
The National Inventory of Greenhouse Gases (INGEI) published in 2015, within TCNCC, resulted in the
following estimate of total emissions for the reference year 2010 (34):
Time series by sector
1990
1994

These emissions are equivalent to approximately 3.28 tons of CO2 equivalent per inhabitant of the
Dominican Republic.
The NDCs are consistent with the target of reducing 25% of total emissions from 2010 by 2030, as established
in the National Development Strategy law.
