Under policies approved by the BOT, the UO
Foundation has been recognized by the UO president
to provide assistance in fundraising, public outreach,
and other support for the mission of the UO. The
UO Foundation is a legally separate, tax-exempt
entity with an independent governing board. The
majority of resources, or income thereon, which the
UO Foundation holds and invests are restricted to the
activities of the UO by the donors and not controlled
directly by the UO. Because these restricted resources
held by the UO Foundation can only be used by, or for
the benefit of the UO, the UO Foundation is considered
a component unit of the UO and is discretely presented
in the financial statements.
The financial activity is reported for the year ended
June 30, 2019.
During the fiscal years 2019 and 2018, gifts
of $139,861, and $95,503, respectively, were
transferred from the UO Foundation to the UO. The
foundation also reimbursed the University $13,505
for development costs, administrative support, and
various other items in fiscal year 2019. In fiscal year
2018, this amount was $12,041. The UO Foundation
is audited annually and received an unmodified audit
opinion in 2019 and 2018.
Please see the financial statements for the UO
Foundation on pages 17 and 19 of this report.
