Staff training and professional qualification Highlighting the importance of continued professional growth of its employees, the Central Bank carried out activities aimed at enhancing professional qualification of the staff in 2019 too. In 2019, to obtain up-to-date knowledge and experience and to develop new skills, the employees of the Central Bank passed training at banks, other financial institutions and training centers abroad and educational centers, including Dilijan Training and Research Center, in Armenia, and benefited from attending courses led by lecturers of well-known international universities. All the above- mentioned measures were intended to offer effective solution to operational tasks defined by the strategy of the Central Bank of Armenia (for example, issue new quality banknotes, introduce and improve risk-based supervision system, integrate financial education component with schools). In pursuit of sharing knowledge and expertise accumulated over the years and further commitment to a teamwork, the Central Bank has organized, by drawing on internal resources, 26 seminars for as much as 304 employees to communicate its current issues and functions and to help them develop important skills for professional activities. During the year 12 employees took online training courses on financial supervision offered by the Financial Stability Institute. In 2019, 4 employees of the Central Bank benefited job rotation, another tool for professional development, to make sure a reserve of managerial staff is in place and both experienced professionals and young specialists are given a chance to broaden their knowledge. During the year, employees of the Central Bank passed. international certification and qualification exams in the field of finance, accounting, audit, insurance, information technologies, among others. As of 2019, 64 employees have international certificates of qualification and 17 are still taking exams. Eight employees of the Central Bank are full members of CFA and nine are full members of ACCA. Two employees of the Central Bank conducted research on current issues on the central bank at Harvard Davis Center during 2019.
