Administrative expenses
Administrative Expenses (excluding amounts
related to the Profit Sharing Program) in-
creased 10.8% in 2020 compared to 2019. The
main variations are explained below:
(i) increase of 22% in personnel expenses,
mainly due to adjustments to the In-
formation Technology team to support
the automation of processes;
(ii) increase in Expenses with Contribu-
tions and Donations, due to the sup-
port of health institutions for invest-
ments in initiatives to combat covid-19
in the first half and in the last quarter
of the year (donations with tax incen-
tives);
(iii) increase in expenses with Communica-
tions, due to costs related to the mi-
gration to a home-office model in view
of the pandemic.
