Investor Presentaiton
Extension of a residence permit, obtaining permanent
residence and citizenship
Svetlana Gorchakova
Head of the Sales Department
The first residence permit card in Italy is valid for two years.
The status can then be extended for another three years.
To maintain status, you need to keep investments.
After five years of living permanently in Italy, the investor can
apply for permanent residence. This status is perpetual but
the card must be replaced every five years.
To obtain permanent residence, you need to live in Italy for
at least 183 days a year for five years. The investor also needs
to confirm financial solvency, housing, medical insurance,
no criminal record, as well as knowledge of the Italian language
at level A2.
To apply for Italian citizenship, you need to live in the country
for five years with a residence permit and then another five
years with permanent residence. The investor will not have
to renounce their first citizenship: Italy recognizes dual
citizenship.
