The Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (Formerly The
Small and Minority Business Division) is a division within the Arkansas
Economic Development Commission (AEDC).
The program is designed to fulfill the Mission Statement to facilitate
the Growth, Development and Expansion of minority and women-
owned businesses by helping them gain access to valuable
information, new market opportunities and financial resources.
The Small and Minority Business Program (SMB) was created by the
Arkansas General Assembly for the purpose of supporting equal
opportunity as well as economic development in every sector in July
1977. Enabling legislation was passed throughout the years and most
recent change was Act 1080 of 2017.View entire presentation
