Establishing a process to redefine and improve cultural heritage management standards Specific actions We are increasing both the capabilities and resources of the internal Cultural Heritage teams to increase understanding and delivery of cultural heritage performance. Rio Tinto Iron Ore has almost doubled the size of its cultural heritage team to more than 60 people. We are progressing the Integrated Heritage Management Process (IHMP) to ensure we do not impact sites of exceptional cultural significance within our existing mine plans. To date, we have: - Reviewed 2205 heritage sites - Reviewed all sites for 2021 and 95% for 2022 - Removed approx. 54 million tonnes of Iron Ore from our reserves as a precautionary measure Set up protective buffer zones for all sites of high cultural significance Rio Tinto ©2021, Rio Tinto, All Rights Reserved 91
