Bilateral Investment Promotion Agreement (2008) (BIPA) ODFDL LEGAL & TAX The BIPA was signed in 2008 to facilitate greater Indian investment into Myanmar and vice versa. In addition, BIPA provides a framework for: the resolution of disputes; the promotion and protection of investments; the extension of "most-favored-nation" treatment; the repatriation of investment and return on that investment; and, the sojourn of technical and managerial personnel.
