5. (1) The Chief Labour Officer shall be responsible for the application,
administration and enforcement of this act and for such other matters relating to
employment rights as the Minister may direct.
a) Receive and investigate all representations made to him concerning this act;
b) Provide information and advice to employers and employees on the
application of this act;
c) Make periodic inspections of places of employment to ensure that there is full
compliance with all laws relating to employment rights, conditions of
employment and the protection of employees in their occupation and where
necessary, provide information and advice as to the time frame for, compliance
with such laws; and
d) Prepare such reports on matters of employment rights as may be required
