Russia and Uzbekistan have traditionally been strategic partners. According to the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 2022 the trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan reached a record high of $9.3 billion. Russia has become the main foreign trade partner for the Uzbek economy. Moreover, Russia has become Uzbekistan's main foreign trade partner. Russian entrepreneurs show considerable interest in opening production facilities in the country. Today there are more than 3,000 enterprises with Russian capital operating in the Republic. The government of Uzbekistan in recent years has taken unprecedented measures to create conditions for attracting investment to the republic. More than 20 free economic zones that offer tax and customs privileges and preferences, as well as all necessary infrastructure for business development have already been opened in the country. All this opens up considerable opportunities for expanding industrial cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.
