The global plastics market is estimated to be a $600 billion industry². Only a tiny fraction of plastics is derived from renewable resources or
recycled.³ As a result, most of the 400 million tons of plastics4 produced each year are estimated to be littered all around the earth's crust and
oceans.
A growing coalition of countries, cities, institutions, and businesses are pledging to eliminate plastic pollution entirely.
Hence, multinational companies are under tremendous pressure from regulators, shareholders and customers to transition their plastics
consumption to eco-friendly alternatives – namely, biodegradable and/or recyclable solutions.
Bio-plastics currently represents only ~1.7% of the global market³ because of severe limitations of current solutions. There is a drive to find all-
in-one solutions (bio-based, renewable, bio-degradable and home/industrial compostable) that are also cost effective and scalable across many
plastics applications.
We believe that Verde's PolyEarthylene TM is well positioned to become a pioneering market leader because it is one of the very few solutions
that we believe has demonstrated an ability to satisfy key requirements so far in a scalable manner.
