Government Push to boost Oil & Gas Production (1/2)
Vedanta, ONGC, 37 others put in 145 bids in oilfield auction
At the close of bidding for the second round of Discovered Small Fields (DSF), state-owned
Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) and Oil India Ltd (OIL) placed bids for 10 fields each while
Indian Oil Corp (IOC) bid for 3, according to upstream regulator DGH.

The government has granted 18 Petroleum Mining Leases to winning bidders under DSF Round I and is in advanced
stages of granting the rest, upstream regulator Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) said in a notice today.

CHENNAI: The Union government has awarded three new hydrocarbon
blocks in the Cauvery basin to ONGC and Indian Oil Corporation
Limited. The State-owned oil and gas majors have proposed to drill 20
wells in Nagapattinam, Karaikal and Ramanathapuram.
